Privacy Policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
Custofeed (“we”) provides a personalised news app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party tracking.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (to send sign-in codes and identify your account) and your time zone (to respect quiet hours).
- Topics: the categories you follow and the descriptions you type, and whether notifications are on for each.
- Reading state: which articles you opened or bookmarked.
- Devices: a random install identifier, the push token issued by Apple or Google, notification permission status, platform, OS and app version, and device model.
- Sessions and security: sign-in session records and IP addresses, used to keep your account secure and to prevent abuse.
- Subscriptions: purchase records from the App Store or Google Play (transaction identifiers, status, expiry). We never receive your payment card details.
How we use it
- To sign you in, find news that matches your topics, and send the notifications you turned on.
- To manage your free trial and subscription across your devices.
- To keep the service secure, reliable and free of abuse.
Service providers
We use Amazon Web Services (email delivery of sign-in codes), Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications), Apple and Google (in-app purchases), and a hosting provider in the European Union. They process data only to provide these services to us.
To find articles we query public news feeds and news search services with the text of topic descriptions. These queries are not linked to your email or identity.
Retention
- Sign-in codes: deleted within 24 hours. Expired sessions: deleted after 7 days.
- Notification delivery logs: 90 days. Article metadata: 30 days unless you bookmarked it.
- When you delete your account, your profile, topics, devices, sessions and reading history are deleted immediately. Purchase records are kept without your identity where tax and accounting law requires. A one-way hash of your email is kept so the free trial cannot be restarted.
Your choices and rights
- Turn notifications off per topic in the app, or entirely in your device settings.
- Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or see Delete account.
- Request a copy or correction of your data, or ask questions, at support@custofeed.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK or California) you have rights of access, correction, deletion and objection.
Children
Custofeed is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this page and the date above if this policy changes, and tell you in the app for material changes.
